What is PET felt?

PET felt is a material made from recycled plastic bottles. The bottles are broken down into fibres, which are then heated and pressed into strong, dense panels. It has a soft texture, a clean modern look, and naturally absorbs sound. It's lightweight, durable, and available in a wide range of colours.

What is PET felt made from?

Our PET felt is made from 75% post-consumer recycled plastic bottles. The remaining 25% is new polyester fibre, which helps bind the material and maintain its structure.

Is PET felt sustainable?

Yes. Every panel is made from recycled plastic bottles that would otherwise end up in landfill. Once a PET felt product reaches the end of its life, it can be recycled again, supporting a circular economy.

Is PET felt safe?

PET felt is certified Class B-s1,d0 to BS EN 13501-1:2018, which means it has very low smoke production and no flaming droplets in the event of fire. It's non-toxic, non-irritant, and safe to handle without gloves or protective equipment.

Does PET felt absorb sound?

Yes. PET felt naturally absorbs sound, which helps reduce echo and background noise in busy spaces. The thicker the panel, the more sound it absorbs:

• 9mm panels: NRC 0.45 (Class D) — absorbs mainly mid to high frequencies
• 12mm panels: NRC ~0.55–0.60 — better performance in the mid-frequency range
• 24mm panels: NRC ~0.75–0.80 — strong absorption across a wider frequency range

NRC (Noise Reduction Coefficient) measures how much sound a material absorbs. A higher number means better absorption.

Does PET felt provide insulation?

Yes. PET felt has a thermal conductivity of 0.036 W/(m·K), which means it also helps retain warmth in a room.

What products do you sell?

We sell a focused range of PET felt acoustic products for offices and workspaces: desk screens (12mm and 24mm), freestanding dividers, hanging dividers, wall panels, wall tiles, ceiling baffles, ceiling rafts, and the mounting accessories to install them.

What sizes are available?

Sizes vary by product. Each product page lists all available sizes in the variant selector. If you need a size that isn't listed, get in touch and we'll see what we can do.

What colours are available?

Our products are available in up to 48 colours. The exact number of colours varies by product — some products offer the full range, while others offer a smaller selection. You can browse all available colours on our Colour Range page.

Do all colours have the same lead time?

No. For 9mm panels, 10 core colours are available on a 1-week lead time. Extended colours and all other thicknesses are available on a 6–8 week lead time. Lead times for finished products (desk screens, wall panels, etc.) may differ — check individual product pages for details.

Will the colour on screen match the real product?

Colours may appear slightly different on screen depending on your display settings. Because PET felt is made from recycled fibres, minor variations in colour and texture can also occur between production batches. These are a natural characteristic of the material and are not considered defects. If you'd like to see the real colour before ordering, we can send you a free swatch — just email us at hello@felted.uk.

Can I get free colour swatches?

Yes. Email us at hello@felted.uk with the colours you're interested in and we'll send you swatches free of charge.

How do I place an order?

Browse our products, select your colour and size, and add to cart. You can check out using any of the payment methods listed at checkout.

Do your prices include VAT?

Yes. All prices displayed on the website include VAT.

Can I pay by invoice or on account?

We don't currently offer invoice or account payment. All orders are paid at checkout. If you're placing a large order and need to discuss payment options, please contact us.

Do you offer bulk or trade pricing?

If you need a large quantity, get in touch at hello@felted.uk and we'll put together a price for you.

Can I order a custom size or design?

Yes. If you need a product in a size or specification that isn't listed on the website, contact us and we'll let you know what's possible and provide a quote.

Where do you deliver?

We deliver to mainland UK addresses. If you need delivery to Northern Ireland or the Scottish Highlands, please contact us at hello@felted.uk for a delivery quote before placing your order.

How much does delivery cost?

Delivery costs are calculated at checkout based on your order size and delivery address.

How long does delivery take?

Most orders are dispatched within 10 working days. Delivery times may vary depending on the product, colour selection, and your location. You'll receive a confirmation email with tracking information once your order has been dispatched.

What if my order arrives damaged?

Please inspect your delivery as soon as it arrives. If anything is damaged or missing, email us at hello@felted.uk within 48 hours of delivery with your order number and photos of the damage. We'll sort it out as quickly as possible.

How are desk screens installed?

Our desk screens attach to your desk using clamp brackets, which are sold separately. We offer three styles of bracket to suit different desk thicknesses. Check the Accessories collection to find the right one for your setup, or contact us if you're unsure.

How are wall panels installed?

Wall panels can be installed using either polymer adhesive or brad nails. Both methods are straightforward:

• Adhesive: Spread evenly on the back of the panel, press onto a clean, dry wall, and allow to cure. This gives a clean finish with no visible fixings.
• Brad nails: Nail at a 45° angle into timber or a wooden framework. The nails sink between the fibres and are barely visible.

Can PET felt be cut to size?

Yes. PET felt can be cut using standard tools including utility knives, circular saws, jigsaws, and digital cutters. Always use sharp tools for clean edges. For detailed guidance on cutting methods, kerf cutting, and power tool use, download our Cutting Guide from the Resources page.

Do I need any special tools?

No. PET felt can be worked with using standard tools you'd use on wood or MDF. No specialist equipment is required for most installations.

How do I clean PET felt?

Regular light vacuuming will keep dust from building up. Most marks can be removed with a mild detergent solution, followed by rinsing and blotting dry with a clean cloth.

How do I remove stains?

Different stains require different treatments. As a general rule: mop up spills immediately, scrape off any solid material, then clean with carpet shampoo working from the outside of the stain towards the centre. Can PET felt get wet?

PET felt can handle minor moisture (like cleaning), but it's not designed for wet environments. Allow panels to dry fully after any cleaning.

Is PET felt durable?

Very. PET felt is impact-resistant, non-irritant, pinnable, and holds up well under normal use. It won't sag, fray, or deteriorate under typical office conditions.

Can I return my order?

Yes. Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have 14 days from the date you receive your goods to cancel your order. Products must be returned unused, undamaged, and in their original packaging. Custom-made products (including items cut to size or manufactured specifically for your order) can only be returned if faulty or supplied incorrectly.

Who pays for return shipping?

You are responsible for the cost of returning goods unless the product is faulty or we sent the wrong item. In those cases, we'll cover the return cost.

When will I get my refund?

We'll process your refund within 14 days of receiving the returned goods. The refund will go back to your original payment method.

What guarantee do your products come with?

All products come with a manufacturer's guarantee against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. Guarantee periods vary by product — between 2 and 10 years. The specific guarantee period is listed on each product page.

The guarantee does not cover damage from misuse, improper installation, or normal wear and tear. To make a claim, email us at hello@felted.uk with your order number, a description of the problem, and photos if possible.
