Collection: Acoustic Ceiling Rafts

A ceiling raft is a flat panel of felt hung level below the ceiling. Square, round and hexagon rafts work singly over a desk or table, or in a staggered group across a larger room, and bring colour and shape to a plain ceiling without touching the walls. Every raft is cut from PET felt, made to order in the UK, and ships with its ceiling wires.

Raft or baffle?

A raft hangs flat, so you see its full face from below. A baffle hangs on edge, so you see a line. Rafts suit a single zone: a meeting table, a reception desk, a dining nook. How are ceiling rafts hung?

Wires fix to the broad face of the raft and run up to the ceiling, and the raft hangs level. Wire length sets the drop, so a raft can sit close under a low ceiling or hang deep in a double-height space. Spare ceiling raft wires are available if you want extra hanging points or a replacement set.

Which shape and size?

Square, round and hexagon, each in 12mm or 24mm board and a choice of sizes. Hexagons tessellate, so a cluster of three or five reads as one feature. Rounds soften a room full of straight lines. Squares sit neatly over a rectangular table.

Do felt rafts help with sound?

As a secondary benefit, yes. Felt is soft and porous, and a raft hung with an air gap behind it softens sound in the space below. Rafts are chosen first for how they look overhead. If cutting sound between rooms is the aim, that is what our Shell system is for.

What colours and fire rating?

12mm rafts come in 48 colours and 24mm rafts in 20. Every board is fire rated Class B-s1,d0 to BS EN 13501-1.
