3 Panel Folding Room Divider - Acoustic PET Felt Screen
Divide a room in minutes, not weeks. No stud wall, no builder, no mess. This three-panel folding room divider is a freestanding privacy screen that opens out like a concertina and stands on its own, so you can turn open space into a private zone whenever you need one. Divide a living room from a dining area, screen a home office corner in an open-plan floor, or close off a larger sleeping area. In a shared bedroom it gives each child their own half. When you are done, fold it flat and move it or store it away.
Each panel is cut from a single solid 24mm board of dense recycled PET felt. It is the difference between solid wood and plywood. Cheaper folding screens bond two thinner boards together, which leaves a glue line down the edge, can delaminate over time, and makes the panel far harder to recycle at the end of its life. A single cut board has none of that. It keeps the felt fully recyclable, and gives clean sealed edges with no visible seam. It is the same acoustic felt we make our freestanding office screens from, so as well as dividing the space it absorbs sound and softens the echo of a busy room. Solid and soft to the touch, the surface is fully pinnable on both sides, so it doubles as a board for plans, notes or a child's artwork. That is something a lightweight rattan or fabric screen cannot match.
At 1.8m wide it spans a proper opening, enough to draw a real line across an open-plan room rather than screen a single corner. It separates sleeping, working and living without closing a room in. In a shared bedroom it gives each child their own private half, and their own pinnable side, with no building work.
It arrives flat-packed, easy to carry through doorways and up stairs, and the three panels join with the supplied hinges in a few minutes. Once it is up it is completely self-supporting. No feet to buy, no fixing to wall or floor. Choose from three heights for how much you want to close a room in: 1900mm for tall, head-height privacy, or 1500mm and 1200mm for a lighter, lower divide. Need more or less span? Our two-panel reaches 1.2m and our four-panel 2.4m.

Questions
Does the divider stand on its own?
Yes. Once the three panels are joined with the supplied hinges and set into a gentle zig-zag, it is completely freestanding. There are no feet to buy and nothing to fix to the wall or floor. The fold is what holds it stable and upright.
Is it made from one board or two bonded together?
One. Each panel is cut from a single solid 24mm board, the difference between solid wood and plywood. Cheaper screens bond two thinner boards together, which leaves a glue line down the edge, can delaminate over time, and makes the panel much harder to recycle. A single cut board keeps the felt fully recyclable and gives clean sealed edges with no visible seam.
How tall is it?
You choose from three heights. 1900mm gives tall, head-height privacy. 1500mm and 1200mm give a lighter, lower divide that screens a space without closing it in. All three are 1.8m wide across the three panels.
Is it acoustic? Does it absorb sound?
Yes. The panels are 24mm dense recycled acoustic PET felt, the same material as our acoustic screens, so the divider absorbs sound and softens the echo of a busy room as well as dividing it. It softens the sound within a room rather than blocking sound coming through a wall.
How wide is it, and what if I need to span more or less?
The three-panel divider spans 1.8m, with each panel 600mm wide. For a narrower gap the two-panel spans 1.2m, and for a wider one the four-panel reaches 2.4m. For five or six panels, get in touch and we will build to your space.
Can I use it in a rented flat?
Yes. It stands on its own with no fixing to the wall or floor, so it leaves no marks and needs no permission. You can move it between rooms or take it with you when you leave.
Is it pinnable?
Yes, on both sides. The felt surface takes pins, so the divider doubles as a board for notes, plans or a child's artwork.
