Acoustic Wall Tiles – Einstein Hat – PET Felt
The Einstein hat is a single 13-sided tile that covers a wall with no gaps and never repeats. It was the first shape ever found that tiles on its own without the pattern repeating, discovered in 2022. Every tile is the same shape at one size, CNC cut from 12mm PET felt for a soft textured finish. About one in seven tiles sits reversed, a mirror of the rest, and because the felt reads the same on both faces a reversed tile is simply the same tile turned over. At the wall edges you trim the boundary tiles to fit with a sharp blade.
It is one of very few ways to bring the shape off the page and onto a wall as a fitted surface.
Available in 48 colours and three sizes, all 12mm deep:

400 (400 x 289mm) - 9 tiles per pack
600 (600 x 433mm) - 4 tiles per pack

Really easy to install yourself. Mark out your layout on the wall, fix the tiles and trim the edge tiles to fit with a sharp blade. No special tools or skills needed. Most people have a full wall finished in an afternoon.

How to hang these tiles
The tiles are lightweight, so there are three ways to fix them.
- Adhesive gives the best finish. Use a solvent-free, low-VOC adhesive suited to PET felt and your wall.
- Button-fix Type 3 panel fixings also give a clean finish. A hidden push-fit clip, no visible screws, and the tile pulls off whenever you need to get behind it. Line each fixing up with our reusable Button-fix marker tool, sold separately.
- Pin head nails are the quickest fix, though the heads may show.
